LIMERICK GASWORKS

While putting down a new valve in one of the mains at the gasworks this afternoon four men named McInerney, Kennedy, Bales, and Bank were overcome by an escape of gas. McInerney’s case was by far the most serious, and a priest and doctor were at once sent for. Compressed oxygen gas was administered, and three of the men soon recovered; so, also, did McInerney after two hours, but he was sent to hospital while the other three men returned to work.
